After the cremated ashes of Srila Prabhupada’s disciple, Caitanya
Dasi, were placed in the sacred Yamuna River along with the appropriate prayers, her friends, godbrothers and godsisters gathered in Srila Prabhupada’s House in Vrndavana, on March 12, 2019 to glorify and remember Srila Prabhupada’s dear disciple. Caitanya Dasi who faithfully served Srila Prabhupada in ISKCON since 1969.
The Memorial Service was simply wonderful as they each spoke of Caitanya Dasi’s glories and achievements, sometimes interrupting each other informally, when they would get excited and remembering yet another wonderful event in Caitanya’s love for her Prabhupada, for her Jagannatha and for her children.
Information was shared about Caitanya’s extensive preaching, even starting a Temple in Trinidad, her numerous dramas as an expert actress, her expertise in singing and playing musical instruments and raising her 4 children, basically as a struggling, single mother.
There was laughter over various encounters with Caitanya Dasi and then there were tears as we heard her daughter, Gandhari Zeppetello ‘s farewell letter to her mother. We also listened and watched her beautiful Vyasa puja offering with footage of Srila Prabhupada and Vrndavana called, “At last, I am finally Home,” which you can watch on www.youtube.com.
All Glories to Caitanya Dasi, Forever Srila Prabhupada’s loving Servant!
All glories to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada!
