Our Vaishnavas CARE Seminar yesterday, Saturday, June 24, 2017, at ISKCON Philadelphia was a great success due to all of the kind, enthusiastic devotees who attended. In this photo are Bhaktin Kate Keen (holding her Certificate), Purnamasi Dasi and Jai Devaki Parks (who traveled from Gita Nagari with Ekavira Prabhu and Vraja lila Dasi to attend the all day seminar).
Thank you to everyone who took the time and made the effort to spend their Saturday sharing their realizations about this subject matter and learning about, “The Art of Caring for the Departing Vaishnavas.” I feel blessed to have had your association!
Several participants have already volunteered to be part of the Philadelphia Vaishnavas Care Team. Our first team meeting will be next week to begin organizing care for devotees in our congregation. The Philadelphia team already consists of a Nurse Practitioner, Social Worker/Counselor, Physical Therapist, Hospice and Palliative Nurse, Registered Nurse and other sincere devotees of the Lord who are stepping forward to cook for the sick Vaishnavas, read to them from Srila Prabhupada’s books, run occasional errands, chant bhajans, with the patient and family members, etc. etc. Thank you to everyone for your interest in this much-needed service.
Yours in service to Srila Prabhupada,
Sangita devi dasi
