Senior resident brahmacari of Mayapur and a disciple of HH Jayapataka Swami, His Grace Narottam Das Brahmacari, passed away on the auspicious Papamochani Ekadasi day (13th March, 2018) at Mayapur, India. He joined ISKCON Mayapur in the year 1978. After two months of training in the New Bhakta department, he went to Kolkata Ratha yatra. From there, he went to Chennai with the traveling sankirtan party, distributing books for five years. The next five years, he spent distributing books in Orissa. In 1986, on the year of Lord Caitanya’s 500 anniversary, he came back to Mayapur. He continued Sankirtan, book distribution, for 15 years. In 1993, he served as Radha Madhava’s pujari for 2 years. In 1995, when Srila Prabhupada’s Pushpa Samadhi Mandir opened, he joined as one of the main pujaris at Pushpa Samadhi Mandir. In this way, he was engaged in the service of Srila Prabhupada’s mission in Mayapur for the last 40 years. He was an extremely determined and very dutiful servant of the Lord.
His cremation ceremony took place on Dwadasi day, 14th March at Ganga ghat, attended by Mayapur devotees.
